Five Great Things About GTA

#1 – High Standards

  • Graduates complete UC “A – G” requirements, anywhere from 12-30 college credits, 140 hours of community service, and a community-based 35-hour senior internship. 
  • Extended school day, large no-cost before & after school program (we’re open from 7 AM - 6 PM and serve three meals per day at each campus).
  • Named “One of America’s Best High Schools” by US News & World Report. Also, winner of 6 California gold medals for academic performance, Title 1 performance, and CTE education, and a middle-school national “Schools to Watch” award.

#3 – Technology-Infused Program

  • All classrooms (even Physical Education) have electronic Smart Boards, LCD projectors, document cameras, and complete teacher workstations.
  • Students complete at least four years of technology instruction, with numerous options for college and AP classes. Middle school students learn to type 65 wpm, program in 3 languages, and earn Microsoft certifications in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. High school students can choose from various technology certifications in digital art, robotics, and medical technology.
  • The innovative curriculum emphasizes field trips, “hands-on” experiences, and a strong music and digital art program.

#4 – Strong, Flexible Program

  • Independent public charter schools – no tuition or charge to parents!

  • High schools are fully WASC accredited and A-G accredited! 

  • Three- and four-year graduation options, with a chance to earn up to 30 college credits before graduating high school!

#5 – GTA's Vallejo History & Commitment

  • Up to 25 years of operation (first school started in 1999).
  • Among the highest-performing secondary schools (as measured by CAASPP/Smarter Balanced testing) in Napa and Solano Counties.
  • Commitment to Vallejo – each year, our students invest thousands of hours in community service and internships in Vallejo.
  • Finalizing a $40 million construction project on one site, including a new gym and sports fields, and upgrades worth $8mn on the other.
