For the past 25 years, MIT Academy's high school and middle school programs have been committed to fostering academic excellence and personal growth among students of diverse backgrounds. MIT Middle School, officially known as Mare Island Technology Academy, provides a solid foundation of college readiness and technology classes to prepare a foundation for high school. Winner of multiple academic awards, including Distinguished School and Blue Ribbon School, MIT Middle School has created an academic resurgence post-pandemic.
MIT High School, officially known as MIT Academy, emphasizes the importance of high expectations, rigorous curriculum, and supportive interactions among students and faculty to cultivate self-motivated and competent individuals. With a focus on preparing students for post-secondary education and the evolving global workforce, MIT Academy offers various support programs such as AVID tutoring and Advanced Placement courses to ensure student success. In addition to these programs, MIT Academy supports its students taking 12 units of college credit, a graduation requirement.
MIT Middle School temporarily occupies a campus at 425 Corcoran Avenue in the Chabot Terrace neighborhood of Vallejo. Once construction is completed on the neighboring shared campus at 1 and 2 Positive Place, MIT Middle School will move back there. For now, the 1 and 2 Positive Place campuses are occupied solely by MIT High School.
